Beginners classes are held over two days with a month break between the classes, to allow for completion of homework and to practice the skills learnt in the sessions. They are held on different days throughout the year so please check your dates carefully to make sure they suit you.
 
Day one
The focus of this entire session is on raw edge applique which is a perfect way to learn the accuracy & precision required to master consistent, even free motion stitches. The class project provides you with ample repitition that allows you to develop your skills before the second class.  
 
Day Two 
This session provides you with a repertoire of background quilting patterns, strategies for quilting any sized quilt and the skills required to background quilt around features in your project such as applique.
 
Also included as a part of this class is access to a series of 6 online classes covering the construction of a small throw sized quilt using raw edge & free motion.
 
Classes cover Raw Edge Appliqué and Background Quilting using a Joseph's Coat pattern exclusive to Cutting Cloth.
 
Morning & afternoon tea is supplied. 
 
All class materials are in additon to the class fee. 
The kit for this class is $180 and covers all fabrics, quilt sandwiches, threads, pre-cut & pre-fused appliqué shapes required to participate in the class.
