Worry Dolls are a tradition of the Guatemalan children who make tiny colourful dolls from sticks & fabric threads. The children share their worries with heir dolls and the doll then takes care of their problems while they sleep.  I designed the quilt for my daughter Jessica, when she was just a little girl. She  always carried the worries of the world with her ... thankfully as she has grown she has become more carefree!
 
The inspiration for the quilt came after reading a wonderful Andrew Browne book called 'Silly Billy'. If you haven't read it to your children or grandchildren I highly recommend it. 
 
This pattern includes complete instructions & full sized pattern sheets, to create this fun cuddle quilt & two cute cushions. The appliqué in this project comes together using raw edge appliqué. The bright colours & playful characters combine beautifully in this quilt making this such a fun project that any child would love! The sky literally is the limit with this design why not individualise the dolls in your version to represent little people who are special to you or use the shapes to make any number of new creations such as bunting or library bags. The sky is the limit!
